New Client Agreement

During our initial consultation, we will work with you to complete a Client Intake Agreement.  This form will need to be completed prior to the commencement of any services at Walk With Gus.

Consistency is Key

Establishing a regular dog walking schedule is highly recommended.  This not only ensures that you receive your desired walking window, but it also assists our walkers to fully prepare, so that every one of our clients gets the most out of every visit. For group walks, specifically pairing your pet with familiar dog buddies will make for more enjoyable outings.

Scheduling Window

Life can be unpredictable… traffic, weather and schedules can all change unexpectedly.  For this reason Walk With Gus will not accept time specific calls and reserve a two-hour window around the time of your scheduled walk.

Life Happens

In the event of a last minute emergency or special request, we will do all we can to accommodate the needs of our special furry friends.  However, we cannot offer any guarantees for short notice circumstances.

Payment

Invoices will be emailed to you based on the payment agreement made during the initial consult.
Weekly Payment for walking is due on the last day of each week.
For those of you who wish to pay monthly, we request payment at the beginning of each month. Adjustments can be made monthly as required.
Cheques should be made payable to Candice Jones.  NSF cheques will be charged a $25 administration fee.
We also accept E-transfers to: candice_jones@hotmail.com

Taxes

All prices for services are subject to HST.

Cancellations

Walk With Gus requires that all cancellations or rescheduling must be confirmed at minimum 24 hours prior to the scheduled walk.
Cancellations must be made by phone, not later than 5:00 pm the day prior.  Notes left for the Dog Walker do not count as a cancellation notice.
Failure to cancel within the 24-hour window will result in the full price of the visit being charged.

At Walks End

Client agrees to provide a proper towel to be used to clean and dry off their dog in cases of inclement weather or muddy conditions.  The towel should be left by the entrance door and available each scheduled walk day.
While Walk With Gus will make all reasonable efforts, we may be unable to return a perfectly clean dog after a muddy day.  If you would prefer that your dog is not loose in the house unsupervised, please provide a comfortable barriered area or room for your walker to leave your dog.  We will be sure to leave them with fresh water in their bowl and any toys or treats provided.

Extreme Weather Conditions

The health and well-being of both your dog and Walk With Gus employees is paramount.  In the event of weather advisories, storms with lightning and thunder etc., walks may be shortened to 20 minutes or less.  Your dog will be provided sufficient time to relieve themselves.
Should extreme weather cause service cancellations, you will be notified by phone.

Emergency Care

In the event that something should happen to your dog that requires medical attention, we will do everything possible to obtain the right treatment for your dog in a timely manner.
In the event that we are unable to reach you in a timely manner for whatever reason, we reserve the right to take your pet to the nearest veterinarian at the cost of $25 an hour.

Vaccinations

We require that all dogs be current on their Rabies, Distemper, Parvovirus, Para influenza, and Hepatitis vaccinations. Vaccinations must be administered by a licensed veterinarian a minimum of 48 hours prior to Walk With Gus’ services being performed and records of vaccinations must be provided.
In addition, Flea & Tick prevention treatment is mandatory for all dogs enrolled for services at Walk With Gus.

Dog Licensing

All dogs need to wear proper Municipal Licensing identification.  Walk With Gus is not liable for any fines incurred for dogs not wearing such identification.

Pet Health, Behaviour & Safety

We reserve the right to refuse service to any pet for any reason including, without limitation, if it appears that the pet is sick, injured, in pain, or that its behaviour could jeopardize the health and safety of other pets or our staff.
Walk With Gus does not accept aggressive or untrained dogs. Client agrees to be responsible for all costs (including, but not limited to, medical care, attorney fees, etc.) if client’s dog should bite another person or animal.

Pet Health, Behaviour & Safety (cont’d)

Walk With Gus will not walk dogs on prong collars, choke chains, or any other form of aversive training collar.  We request that you provide a properly fitting body harness for your dog to use during our walks.
For safety and consistency reasons, we will use our own Leashes to walk your dog.

Walker Sick Days & Vacation Days

We’re only human - our walkers get sick, request time off for Vacation just like everyone else.  We will advise you in advance should your regular walker be unavailable and will make arrangements for another walker to walk your dog.  The alternate walker will have a copy of your dog’s profile sheet so that there are no surprises and the walk routine is consistent and enjoyable.
All regular scheduling and cancellation policies remain in effect.

Legal

Walk With Gus personnel may enter client’s home for the purpose of picking up/returning their pet. We will not be held responsible for dogs that cause damage to furniture, carpet, flooring/woodwork, walls, etc. while walker is not present. Walk With Gus cannot be responsible for any complications dogs may suffer or actions of dogs while they are unattended.
